The Train the Trainer Adult Safeguarding course is aimed to support those who want to train their own staff and those undertaking the champions role in relation to this topic. It provides delegates with the skills, knowledge and confidence to prepare, design, deliver and evaluate an impactful Adult Safeguarding course so that staff fully understand and apply their learnings into working practices, which supports the organisation to maintain CQC compliance.
Outcomes
- Understand the legislative requirements of Adult Safeguarding, including CQC compliance requirements
- Understand the application of the company’s ‘Whistleblowing policy
- Understand and explain what constitutes abuse; and harm, the signs and symptoms and indicators of abuse and harm
- Understand when adults may be considered at risk, and how this occurs
- Explain the factors to consider in establishing whether a situation has the potential to be harmful;
- The link between Safeguarding and Mental Capacity principles and how to ensure these are understood and applied.
- Know when and to whom potential abuse, neglect or harm should be reported
- The importance of accurate and timely recording and potential consequences of not doing so
- Understand the importance of treating all people with fairness and respect and working in a way that fully complies with all aspects of the Equality Act 2010.
